For these goaltenders,
stopping the puck is only half the battle.

About Us

In 2006 Cheryl Englert, Co-Founder of Mind-Body-Mask, Inc, came up with the initial concept behind this documentary film project. Having always loved the game of hockey, and having two children playing the position of goaltender, the idea of making a film on the subject intrigued her. She decided the world needed to see how challenging the position of an ice hockey goaltender was, both physically and mentally, and what type of individual it took to be successful. In the summer of 2006, Cheryl met a very special person through a goalie camp. Jordan Sigalet was a top ranked collegiate goaltender and currently playing for the AHL Providence Bruins, who had recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. However, despite suffering from this potentially devastating disease, Jordan was able to continue to move forward with his career, while also serving as a spokesman for MS awareness throughout North America.

Jordan’s story inspired a new focus for the documentary. After some extensive research, Cheryl found that there were many inspirational stories about individuals with different disabilities who successfully played the position of goaltender. She decided that all of these stories should be shared with the world and thus, Mind-Body-Mask was conceived.
